Sales consultant

Are you interested in working for one of America’s only hand-made motorcycle manufacturers? Janus Motorcycles is looking for a full-time sales consultant to work at their shop in downtown Goshen, Indiana!

Job Brief:

Janus Motorcycles is looking for an ambitious, ready-to-learn, and self-accountable sales consultant. Candidates should ideally have a current motorcycle endorsement and have riding experience. The job will include periodic weekend duties at Janus “Discovery Days”, industry shows, and local and national events. 

This is a commission-based job with a base hourly rate, in a fast-moving, growing company. The ideal candidate for this position displays ambition, is process-minded, and is excited to grow and learn.

Sales position duties:

  • Provide excellent customer service for current and future Janus Motorcycles customers.

  • Respond in a timely manner to ALL phone and email inquiries. Note: Sales representative is not responsible for social media. 

  • Contribute to, and keep apprised of activity in our leads-management software.

  • Communicate regularly with the customer care, marketing team, and management.

  • Welcome and provide service for walk-in customers. Greet the customer, show them the bikes and the shop, answer any questions they may have. Introduce the customer to the Devin and Richard if they are available. Offer them a brochure, business card. Engage in conversation, ask questions (Do they ride? If so, what type of bike? Etc.)

  • Assist customers through the entire sales process. If someone decides to buy, walk them through their upgrades, options, delivery time, fill out a physical copy of order sheet, etc.

  • Manage mailing of brochures, info cards, and any pertinent sales material, etc. 

  • Assist in planning and execution of Janus Discovery Days, open houses, and occasional extended hours.

  • Occasional travel may be required to industry events.

Skills required:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. You must be able to communicate clearly and lead potential customers through the sales process. 

  • Basic knowledge of web-based applications like Gmail, Google Documents, etc.

  • Ability and willingness to learn and operate within new software applications like Basecamp, Copper CRM (lead management), etc.

  • Excellent organization skills

  • Willingness to learn many details about our own models and manufacturing process, as well as a working knowledge of the motorcycle industry and history.

  • Current motorcycle endorsement and riding experience

  • Self-accountability

  • Adhere to a professional dress standard for events and walk-in customers

  • Exemplary work ethic

  • Timeliness

  • Sense of humor
